We are the object of God’s love:
Zep 3:17 The LORD your God is in your midst, he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.
Rom 5:5 because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
Rom 5:8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Rom 8:39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Eph 2:4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us.
We are a source of love:
Mat 22:37 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
Mat 22:39 You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
Joh 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.
Joh 13:35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
We are to be fruitful:
Be the tree that you are. If you are an ‘apple’ don’t try produce ‘lemons’.
Produce what God has made you to be. God has never made any thing worthless, you have a God-given identity & purpose to live out. Be confidently you.
The purpose of fruit, by the way, is to plant seeds.
What are you doing that is going to carry on after you?
We are to multiply:
Multiplication is seen in the principle of sowing and reaping.
When you sow a seed, you will reap 30, 60, or 100 times what you put in.
This principle works regardless of whether the seed is positive or negative.
You are responsible for everything that happens in your life… but also for everything that does not happen in your life.
Go back to Adam in the garden:
There was no such thing as money, so what was wealth for Adam?
Perhaps first determine his necessities
> Water: from a stream or wellspring.
> Food: abundant vegetables, fruits, nuts etc…
> Shelter: There was no rain upon the earth before the flood, so a mossy matress would have been my choice.
> Time: There was no need for time measurement before death entered the ring.
But none the less, time would be spent exploring!
Exploring God (friendship and sonship).
Exploring Eve (friendship, marriage, and family).
Exploring Creation (Journaling, mapping, testing, experimenting…).
Reigning over Creation (building and creating what he saw in heaven onto earth).
So how does this affect our lives today? As enticing as living in a shack in the woods sounds, we have taxes to pay, people to please and expectations to live up to!
But what if God didn’t intend for us to spend 45years, 8hours per day, doing meaningless ‘work’ , with a ‘thanks for coming’ lunch at the end of it all, only to find that you’ve given your best hours, of your only life, to someone else’s dream?
Is there an alternative?
Yes, but its not as easy as the common life.
In the words of Andrew Klavan, “Liberty is harder than slavery. Its full of risks and unequal outcomes.” But then again isn’t Faith spelt R-I-S-K?
Remove every obstacle. Remove money, opinions, obligations, abilities…
What would you do?
Nine times out of ten, thats God’s will for your life (Ps 37:4 Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart). If you are seeking God, then do whats on your heart, what excites you, do what you want to do.
Indulge God, He will make your life count.
Do something! Change! If your life is not great, you are dying anyway.
